Das Protocol habe ich für's "Steh" mit Demon mal (im Haus) durchgezogen. Ich fand es sehr schön, so genau "gesagt" zu bekommen, wie ich die Anforderungen steigern kann, und mir dafür mal nicht selbst den Kopf zerbrechen zu müssen  . Allerdings ist unser Haus zu klein dafür, soviele Schritte, wie vorgegeben, kann ich nicht bis zur Haustür gehen, um dort dann zu klopfen oder klingeln. Ich wüsste gerne, wie Frau Overall wohnt  .

Ach ja: es ist ja eigentlich zur Entspannung gedacht und der Hund darf sitzen oder liegen. Ich finde es aber eben auch gut, um steigende Dauer und Ablenkungen in andere stationäre Übungen einzutrainieren.

For most dogs, we need to temporarily change their environments and routines to avoid common triggers. This could mean changing the time of day you walk your dog, covering or blocking access to your fence or windows so that your dog can’t bark at people or other dogs going past, or avoiding visitors to your home for a period of time. It oftentimes means taking a break from dog training classes or dog sports competitions and avoiding travel. We may need to change your dog’s exercise from exciting ball play to leisurely “sniff walks” on a long leash or increase mental exercise by feeding out of puzzle toys.

Many trainers call this period of trigger avoidance a “cortisol vacation,” referring to one of the common stress hormones. If your dog has been locked in a destructive stress spiral for awhile, it’s going to take time for him to return to a more balanced state: four to six weeks is common for many of my clients.

Schlimm genug, dass solche Versuche stattfinden, und dass man versucht über das "Drogenverhalten" von Ratten auf Menschen zu schliessen. Und niemand ist je auf die Idee gekommen, dass eine Ratte, die in einer kleinen Metallschachtel lebt, "normales" Verhalten zeigt oder vielleicht doch nicht? 

Hoffentlich bringt das manchen dazu, die Wirksamkeit von solchen Versuchen zu hinterfragen.

"It becomes much easier to capture a behavior if we can determine when the behavior is likely to occur. Rather than waiting all day, you can watch closely when these situations are beginning and make sure that you are ready to reinforce the behavior. Or, even better, you can arrange for these situations to happen.
Behaviors always have cues. When we train a behavior using capturing, we are just adding a new cue to the behavior. We are also usually adding a new reinforcer as well. This allows us to take a behavior that is already occurring naturally and be able to call upon it at will."

Treat Training Trinity – Why positive reinforcement did not work for my dog.

Properly executed, positive reinforcement works.

It all comes down to the Bob Bailey trinity.  Timing – criteria – rate of reinforcement.  While providing feedback at the right moment in time is important, it is equally important to raise expectations in small, measured increments.  Too big of a leap and the dog goes from right to wrong.  We also need to provide fast feedback in the initial stages of training.  Pause too long between reinforcements and the dog checks out, gets bored or would rather be elsewhere.
