canine theriogenology: https://www.coursera.org/course/theriogenology
This course will help anyone who loves dogs to better understand their dog's reproductive health and how to control its reproduction. This includes understanding the pros and cons of having your dog spayed or castrated, and understanding at what age that surgery can be performed.
Equine Nutrition: https://www.coursera.org/course/equinenutrition
About the Course
This course is designed to provide knowledge of equine digestion and nutrition for those with an interest in this area. The anatomy and physiology of the equine alimentary canal will be studied to provide students with an understanding of the equine digestive system. Nutrient sources for horses will be discussed, with emphasis placed on the health and welfare issues surrounding the inclusion of various types of feedstuffs in equine diets. Students will also discuss recommendations on rations for horses and ponies performing various activities and should feel better equipped to make judgements on rations for horses and ponies, in health and disease.
Course Syllabus
Week 1: Anatomy and physiology of the equine gastrointestinal tract
The expectation is that the course participants will come from varied backgrounds in relation to their previous experience of gastrointestinal tract anatomy and physiology. Consequently, this course begins with consideration of digestive anatomy and physiology in equids. The learning materials provided are directed towards ensuring a good understanding of equine digestive anatomy and physiology.
Week 2: Nutrient digestion in the equine gastrointestinal tract
The learning materials during this period will focus on nutrient digestion in equids and will consider nutrient digestion in the various segments of the gastrointesintal tract. Discussion should focus on considering the limitations of the equid gastrointestinal tract in relation to nutrient digestion.
Week 3: Equine nutrient sources and feeding management
This part of the course will consider various nutrient sources for equids. Learning materials will be provided on various feedstuffs utilised in equine diets. These various nutrient sources for horses will be discussed, with emphasis placed on the health and welfare issues surrounding the inclusion of various types of feedstuffs in horse diets. Discussions should involve considering how nutrients are digested within the gastrointestinal tract and how knowledge of this can enhance the dietary management of equids to ensure good health, maximise performance and prevent nutrition-related diseases/disorders.
Week 4: Equine dietary management
This week of the course will explore the nutrient requirements of equids and the dietary management of these animals. Discussions should focus around considering how modern feeding practices do not always consider the anatomy and physiology of the equid digestive tract.
Week 5: Equine clinical nutrition
This part of the course will focus on evaluating feeding strategies for the management and prevention of some nutrition-related diseases/disorders in equids; for example, obesity, laminitis, older horses with dental issues etc. Discussions should focus on the dietary management of individuals affected with nutrition-related problems.
moralities of everyday life: https://www.coursera.org/course/moralities
How can we explain kindness and cruelty? Where does our sense of right and wrong come from? Why do people so often disagree about moral issues? This course explores the psychological foundations of our moral lives.
We will explore the modern science of moral belief and moral action, drawing upon disciplines such as cognitive science, neuroscience, economics, and philosophy. We will look at research from the lab, from the community, and from the battlefield; we will discuss babies, monkeys, and psychopaths; we will debate claims about moral differences between men and women, liberals and conservatives, Christians and Muslims. This course will cover prejudice and bigotry, sexuality and purity; punishment, revenge, and forgiveness; and much much more.

... and signed up for equine nutrition. du auch, cinni?
What a Plant Knows (and other things you didn't know about plants)"

:D Voll gut!
:rotw:

-
Ich hab mich auch angemeldet.
Keine Ahnung, ob mein Englisch reicht, habs zum letzten Mal in der Fachabi-Prüfung gebraucht, is scho a Zeit her. :P
Wenns kein Handout gibt?! :P
edit: Könnt ihr das Quiz öffnen? Bei mir kommt ne Fehlermeldung like "not available at present". :rotw:
-
Habt ihr euch schon vorgestellt? Das sind ja gaaanz schön viele da! :D
EDIT:
Johanna hab ich schon gefunden! :dops:
Und: Es gibt Study groups (https://class.coursera.org/equinenutrition-002/forum/list?forum_id=19).
Da könnte man ja eine gründen dann? :D
*feuerundflammebin*
-
-
ich schau btw. auch grad den da:
https://class.coursera.org/moralities-001
-
ich schau btw. auch grad den da:
https://class.coursera.org/moralities-001
Bei mir steht übrigens "Looks like you are not enrolled in this course!" :spinn:
-
Heute ging der Quiz-Link. Gestern kam ich nicht dazu. ;)
Edit:
The quiz for week one has not been posted yet. This will be posted by the end of the week.
-

Animals occupy a huge part of the planet and our lives, and although we rely on them for all aspects of our own wellbeing - food, draught power, medical advances, clothing, sport as well as pleasure, protection and comfort - often their quality of life is questionable. Appreciating how animal's experience the world they live in and the different behavioural needs of the various species we interact with, enables us to gain a better understanding of their welfare requirements, so that long term improvements to animal lives can be made.
In this animal behaviour and welfare course, you will learn about animal welfare and why it matters, develop an understanding of some of the main welfare issues animals have to cope with as well as gaining an insight into the behavioural needs and the emotions of dogs, cats, farmed animals and captive wildlife.

Hast du eigentlich irgendwo eine Uhrzeit gefunden? Oder werden dann einfach Videos freigeschaltet? Hab noch nie so einen Kurs gemacht...
-
Also kostenlos ;)
-
Sind das dann pdf Dateien und Videolinks?
Und die "Prüfung" bzw. Tests muss man nicht machen?
Das hört sich nämlich echt interessant an... :nick:
-
:nick: :nick:
-
-
Gibts da eigentlich auch Kurse in Deutsch?
Denke wohl nicht, oder?
-
-
social psychology ist übrigens auch interessant:
https://class.coursera.org/socialpsychology-002
Week 1: Social Perceptions and Misperceptions
Week 2: The Psychology of Self-Presentation and Persuasion
Week 3: Obedience, Conformity, and Deindividuation

Week 6: Conflict, Peacemaking, and Intervention
Week 7: A Happy Ending: Romance, Empathy, and Life Satisfaction

-
der animal welfare course startet heuer nochmal.
außerdem gibt`s diese kurse:
Chicken Behaviour and Welfare
https://www.coursera.org/course/chickens
This course will explain the general principles of chicken behaviour and welfare, and the behavioural and physiological indicators that can be used to assess welfare in chickens kept in hobby flocks through to commercial farms. The course is likely to be of interest to people who own chickens as pets or keep a small hobby flock, commercial egg and chicken meat producers, veterinarians and vet nurses.
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
Describe avian sensory perception and motivation.
Explain the main behaviour patterns of poultry.
Define welfare and explain the bases of welfare standards.
Assess chicken welfare, using behavioural and physiological means
Understand common welfare problems of chickens.
------
Animal Behaviour
https://www.coursera.org/course/animalbehav
Many of us derive inspiration from watching natural history documentaries and their astounding catalogue of wild animal behaviours. In this course, we will explore how scientists study animal behaviour, and in particular how behaviour is shaped by the evolutionary forces of natural and sexual selection. Topics include resource acquisition; avoiding enemies; mate choice and sexual conflict; cues, signals and communication; parental care and social behaviour; and the role of genes, environments and learning in regulating behavioural diversity. We draw on examples from across the animal kingdom to illustrate the complex mechanisms underlying adaptations, and complement these with natural history videos that highlight key concepts. We evaluate the scientific rigour of studies used to test theory, and highlight the often ingenious methods adopted by researchers to understand animal behaviour.
We will cover the following topics:
Behaviour, Ecology and Natural Selection
Genes, Environment and Learning
Finding food and avoiding predators
Communication
Sexual selection and sperm competition
Mating systems and S** allocation
Parental care and conflict
Social behaviour

Coursera.org bietet da auch einiges, z.B.
Equine Nutrition
-

Falls da jemand was weiß.
